Picking up last year’s project

I went into my office to start work on an idea I had, but that wasn’t what the universe wanted for me.

I’d started a 60s dress pattern a year before but abandoned it when I couldn’t finish it in a day. Pretty standard.

But on this day, my eyes settled on the dress on my dress form and I found the exact mental energy I’d run out of back then.

In the time since, I’d obviously mislaid both sleeves and the collar, but I bought a set of vintage collars a while back and knew where they were (on the bed where I’d opened the parcel and lost interest, duh).

So: whitework collar, vintage trim, terrible arm hems, vintage buttons and, finally, poppers because who has time for button holes? Not this bitch.

And here she is!

I’ll work on the fit of the bodice when I can be bothered (and attach the strawberry puff sleeves if I find them) but she’s very cute and I’m happy I finished.

Am I right? Tell me!
