Repurpose: Hawaiian shirt

Saw this old, holey cotton shirt in the charity shop and knew it was destined to be a play set pour moi. The clouds! The colours!

I wanted to repurpose as much as possible so I didn’t have to do the work – the buttons, the hems – so I didn’t use a pattern and just smashed straight into it.

Well, I lost a day of my life in a meditative black hole, but I’ve ended up with a messy/cute set, which is all I need.

I’m going to make a proper waistband for the skirt and the top needs taking in a bit at the sides – might use elastic thread for some shirring. I should have used ties at the back instead of trying to do buttons, which obv means you can’t adjust. Carried away by my own cleverness!
