There’s something very touching about a boy reading a book. I’m not saying boys don’t read, but the fact that I find it touching is evidence that it’s not a usual sight. I see men reading, sure. But very few boys.
So when I catch sight of a boy in a beanie and skate shoes lost in a book, I feel moved almost to tears. I romanticise reading a lot but that’s because it IS romantic. It’s the only truly romantic thing, a world that’s finished and encapsulated, untouched by human interference.
Am I right? Tell me!
